Smutna arrives on time, SBŠ Ostrava beat Polonia for the first time

Adela Smutna made three shots from the three point line in the fourth quarter to lead SBŠ Ostrava past Polonia Warszawa, 75-70, on Friday, November 8, at the Centrum Sportu Wilanow.

She shot 3/5 from the three point line in the last 10 minutes to finish with 11 points.


A former Northwest College shooting guard added one steal and one blocked shot.


Iva Beloševič was huge for the visitors.


UT Rio Grande Valley center posted a game high 20 points and also a game high eight rebounds for a efficiency rating of 31.


Oliana Squires (Montana State University) checked out with 19 points.




Lucie Valkova contributed with 13 points.


Marzena Marciniak led Polonia Warszawa with 16 points on 6/11 shooting from the field.


She went 4/6 from the three point line.





Božena Puter and Serena Manala scored 11 points each.


Kornelia Bukowczan added 13 points on 4/7 shooting from the deep.

Poor shooting in the first half dealt a blow for Polonia Warszawa.


SBŠ Ostrava took a 41-28 lead despite unsuccessful shooting by Adela Smutna and Michaela Vackova.

Anna Pawlowska wasn`t available as she is with the Polish national team and yesterday scored 13 points in a 105-51 win against Azerbaijan.
