Polonia Warszawa outlast Frankivsk Prykarpattya, improve to 6-0


Polonia Warszawa erased a 13 points deficit in the first half and used balanced offense the rest of the way to beat Frankivsk Prykarpattya 73-70 on Saturday, January 14, at the Mestska sportovni hala in Chomutov, western Czechia.


Players of the game

Five Polonia players finished in double figures.


Jessica Jackson led all scorers with 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field, including a 2-of-4 from the three point line.

Arkansas star grabbed five rebounds and dished out four assists for a team high efficiency rating of 21.

Jackson filled the stat sheet as she stole the ball and blocked one shot.

Klaudia Sosnowska scored 5 of her 13 points in the fourth quarter.

She singlehandedly executed a 5-0 run and made her lone three pointer for a 67-60 lead with 04:22 left.


Andreona Keys also scored 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the court.

Purdue standout added five rebounds and three assists.


Anna Pawlowska contributed with 11 points and six rebounds.


She played more than 30 minutes – just like fellow starters Jackson, Sosnowska and Keys.


Martyna Leszczynska chipped in with 11 points from the bench.


Oksana Mollova played 40 minutes and scored 17 points for Frankivsk Prykarpattya.


Forward made 3-of-8 shots from the deep.


Mollova posted five rebounds and three assists.

Olha Alekseichyk shined from the three point land, as she connected 4-of-6 attempts enroute to 16 points.


Point guard registered three steals and six forced fouls.


Taisiia Udodenko had another double-double.


Kharkiv native scored 12 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and dished out five assists for a team high efficiency rating of 21.

Krystyna Filevich had 11 points on 3-of-5 shooting from the perimeter.


Prykarpattya captain forced six fouls too.



Key stats

Both teams showed a strong will to win.


Four Polonia starters and five Frankivsk starters played more than 30 minutes.


Prykarpattya`s Fantastic Five led by as much as 13 points early in the game, 12-25.

Polonia Warszawa fixed scoring problems fast and finished the first half with a 25-10 run for a 37-35 lead.


The Polish team shortly trailed at the start of the second half but stayed in front the rest of the way.


Taisiia Udodenko cut the gap to the minimum, 71-70, with 14 seconds left.


Krystyna Filevich fouled on Jessica Jackson then.


Jackson showed the nerves of steel and made both free throws, 73-70.


Filevich missed her last field goal attempt.


Prykarpattya players made 15-of-36 shots from the deep.


Filevich, Mollova, Alekseichyk and Udodenko connected at least three three-pointers each.


Game notes

Polonia Warszawa improved to 6-0 to remain undefeated.


The Poles may have a perfect regular season if they beat Šiauliai Vilmers on Sunday.


Polonia Warszawa has secured the first place in the regular season already.


Frankivsk Prykarpattya dropped to 4-2 and will face Levharti Chomutov in a game which may decide positioning in the Top 3.
