Donskichyte, Tamutyte and Balaban power Neptūnas past RSU


Dalia Donskichyte and Viktoria Balaban combined for 11 steals to earn a maiden win for Neptūnas Klaipeda on Friday, October 28, at the Centrum Sportu Wilanow in Warsaw, Poland. Martynas Airošius team defeated Rīga Stradiņš University 68-48.


Players of the game

Dalia Donskicyte had a huge second half for the Lithuanians.


Athletic guard stole the ball six times and went on a numerous fast breaks to score easy points.


Donskichyte finished the game with 12 points, a game high eight assists and a game high seven steals to earn a efficiency rating of 19.

Ligita Tamutyte played at five due to absence of Lina Pikčiūte and emerged as the best scorer for Neptūnas.


Power forward had 13 points, including 11 in the first half.



Ukraine national team guard Viktoria Balaban-Kondus scored 11 points and dished out six assists.


She added four steals and forced five fouls.



Agne Černeckyte also finished in double figures – Neptūnas captain had 10 points.


Cameroon international Linda Ndoli posted seven points, five rebounds and two steals.


Ukrainian forward Uliana Datsko scored seven points and grabbed a game high nine rebounds.



Katrīna Ozola tied Tamutyte with 13 points.


RSU power forward connected 6-of-11 shots, including 1-of-2 from the three point line.


Ozola added six rebounds and one steal for a team high efficiency rating of 14.


Evelīna Otto scored 11 points on 4-of-5 shooting inside the three point line.


RSU newcomer – and youngest player at 16 – grabbed four rebounds, blocked two shots and forced five fouls for a efficiency rating of 12.



Enija Paula Vīksne chipped in with six points, seven assists and three steals.



Key stats

Neptūnas players had 18 steals, including 13 in the second half.


Klaipeda team scored twice as much points on fast breaks 16-8.


RSU replied with 12 steals but missed some easy layups too.


Neptūnas outscored RSU 18-0 in the third quarter to triple its lead up to 28 points 55-27.


The Latvians didn`t made a single three point shot during the first 30 minutes, including a 0/10 shooting in the first half.



Game notes

RSU paid dearly for its early morning flight – players woke up at 3am.


Neptūnas improved to 1-0 and is 5-0 in all tournaments.


Klaipeda team played without a power forward Lina Pikčiūte, while RSU missed guard Dinija Pāvelsone.


Dalia Donskichyte and Evelīna Otto earned awards for the best players.
