Donskichyte, Datsko and Ndoli lead Neptūnas to big win over SBŠ Ostrava

Neptūnas Klaipeda shot 42,6% from the field and led for 38 minutes to post a 67-54 win over SBŠ Ostrava on Sunday, January 22, at the Rimi Olympic Center in Rīga, Latvia.

Agne Černeckyte dislocated finger on Saturday`s game against TTT Rīga but her teammates played for their captain.


Linda Victorine Ndoli scored 17 points on 8-of-9 shooting from the field.


Cameroon international grabbed a team high 11 rebounds and blocked one shot.



Uliana Datsko had 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field, including a 3-of-4 effort from the field.


Ukraine international added four rebounds.


Dalia Donskichyte dished out 11 assists before she was fouled out.


Neptūnas captain contributed with four points, six rebounds and two steals.


Adela Smutna led all scorers with 21 points on 7-of-17 shooting from the field.


She made 4-of-9 three point shots.


Smutna also had a game 12 rebounds to earn Marence award for the best player.


Katerina Kanova posted 11 points on 5-of-11 shooting from the field.


Tereza Motyčakova contributed with four points, six rebounds and three assists.

Ostrava captain blocked two shots.



Key stats

Neptūnas Klaipeda shot 42,6% from the field (26-of-61) and 72,7% from the free throw line.


SBŠ Ostrava suffered from poorer accuracy, connecting 30,4% of their field goal attempts (21-of-69).


The Czech team stayed in the race and trailed only by eight points, 47-39, after 30 minutes of play.


SBŠ Ostrava scored more points off turnovers (12-16), more points in the paint (28-30) and more second chance points (7-12).



Game notes

SBŠ Ostrava and TTT Rīga were eliminated.


The Czech team needed to beat Neptūnas by nine points.


TTT needed Ostrava`s win by 6-8 points to stay in the race.


SBŠ Ostrava played without injured Anacia Wilkinson, while Megan Mullings played only in the first stage.


Agne Černeckyte dislocated finger on Saturday, visited hospital and returned to the bench to cheer for her team.


Neptūnas supporters were loud and active as their team posted a 2-0 record in Rīga.


A well deserved celebration erupted on the court.
