Peddy delivers, Brumermane steps up, TTT complete comeback against Žabiny Brno

TTT Riga improved defense and secured the paint to post a 80-70 comeback win over courageous Žabiny Brno on Saturday, March 16, at Rostov on Don.

Shey Peddy was omnipresent. Riga guard registered the game highs in points (25), field goals (8), assists (4) and steals (5).

TTT superstar showed her maturity and confidence throughout the game. Peddy scored seven points and registered two crucial steals in the final 10 minutes for a game high efficiency rating of 30.

Aija Brumermane stepped up for the Latvian champions in the second half. Center scored 10 points in the third quarter alone.

Brumermane also held Justina Matuzonyte to two points and scored 12 of her 13 points after the halftime break.

Ieva Pulvere, Kate Kreslina and Ieva Kulite also played important roles.

Kulite is playing the best basketball in her career. She was consistent and reliable scoring threat.

Kulite scored 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the field and connected all four free throws.

Pulvere hit a three pointer to give her team its first lead in the second half 54-53. TTT captain registered +22 ratio after the break.

Michaela Vackova led the Frogs with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Nikola Dudasova had a huge first half, coming off the bench. She hit three three-pointers and scored 13 points.

Marques Webb, Beata Adamcova and Katerina Zohnova also shined for the Czech team.

Žabiny Brno played without its premier point guard Petra Zaplatova, while Kristine Vitola appeared only in the first quarter.

TTT Riga got hit by foul trouble early in the game. Ivey Slaughter and Gunta Basko were fouled out in the fourth quarter.

The Rigans registered just eight turnovers and scored 27 points off turnovers, compared to 23 turnovers and eight points off turnovers for the Žabiny.

TTT also scored more points in the paint (42-16).

Žabiny Brno hit 60% of their field goal attempts from the three point line in the first half (6/10), while Riga connected just 12,5% (1/8).

Martins Zibarts team had 91,7% accuracy from the free throw line (22/24). Brno also shot the ball well (28/33).
