Krēsliņa strikes, TTT golden again

TTT Riga trailed by nine points midway the first quarter but returned early to control the most of the game and climbed to the top with a 73-63 success over Tsmoki Minsk on Sunday, March 17, at Rostov on Don.

Kate Krēsliņa saved the best for last. Latvian guard/forward hit four shots from the three point line, including two successful attempts and eight points in the fourth quarter.

Krēsliņa scored a game high 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field and 4-of-7 from the deep.

Aija Brumermane was huge too. Center posted 12 points, six rebounds and six assists. Brumermane also had a game high +15 ratio.

Shey Peddy (Temple) scored 13 points, grabbed eight rebounds and forced six fouls.

Ieva Pulvere and Ivey Slaughter (Florida State) added 10 points each.

Viktoryia Hasper led Tsmoki Minsk with 17 points (tied with Krēsliņa) and nine rebounds.

Danielle McCray (Kansas) chipped in 16 points and eight rebounds.

Key stats

TTT scored 19 points off turnovers, while Minsk posted just four points.

Krēsliņa alone scored 12 points from the three point line. Tsmoki Minsk needed 25 attempts to tie the score with Riga`s sharpshooter (4/25).

Rachel Theriot scored her first two points in the fourth quarter. Viktoryia Hasper and Shannon McCallum didn`t scored in the final 10 minutes.

Five TTT players finished in double figures, compared with three for Minsk.

Riga played with power forward Kristine Vitola – she also missed the last three quarters on Saturday.

TTT bench had 21 points, including 17 points by Krēsliņa. Minsk reserves replied with 10 points.
