Lulea Basket went on a 19-0 opening run and never looked back to post a 107-63 victory over Amsterdam Angels on Thursday, October 4 at Elektrum Olympic Center in Riga.

Players of the game

Allis Nystrom led all scorers with 25 points on 8-of-9 shooting from the field. She also connected 9-of-12 free throw attempts, grabbed seven rebounds and forced eight fouls.

Chastity Reed (Arkansas-Little Rock 2011) impressed in her EWBL debut, finishing the game with 24 points and 10 rebounds. New Orleans native added six assists and forced six fouls.

Anna Barthold also posted double-double figures. Captain scored 13 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished four assists.

Noor Driessen registered 12 points in a consolation effort.


Key stats

Swedish champs scored 19 unanswered points in the first four minutes. Lulea build a 24 point lead in just 10 minutes 35-11.

The Swedes dominated in the paint (68-28) and posted twice more points off turnovers (32-16).

Lulea scored 23 points in fast breaks, while Amsterdam replied with four points.

The Angels played their first international game. Amsterdam team features young players from five Eredivisie (Netherlands first division) clubs.
